Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech to Zagora Desert
- Pick-up from your accommodation in Marrakech in the morning
- Drive through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi n’Tichka pass at 2,260 metres
- Stop along the way to take photos of the mountains and valleys
- Visit Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and ancient Kasbah built from mud-brick
- Take time for lunch at a local restaurant near the Kasbah
- Continue through Ouarzazate and along the Draa Valley, passing palm groves and Berber villages
- Arrive in Zagora before sunset
- Ride a camel across the dunes as the sun goes down
- Enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner at the camp
- Overnight in Zagora Desert Camp
Day 2: Zagora Desert to Marrakech
- Wake up early and watch the sunrise over the desert
- Have breakfast at the camp
- Depart Zagora and drive back toward Ouarzazate
- Short stops along the route for rest and views
- Cross the High Atlas Mountains again
- Arrive back in Marrakech in the evening with drop-off at your accommodation
